Hi, i'm Andy, and i am the founder of DesignUntapped. This is my first business venture and my aim is to run a successful business by producing quality designs and products for you lovely people. Now, in all honesty the t-shirt market is flooded, i won't kid myself, it will not be easy breaking into it and turning a profit. There are some incredible designed tees out there, and at quality prices, and that's my competition. However more importantly this is about creating an outlet for creativity. My full time gig is a Civil Engineer, but i have always been creative and the DesignUntapped Project / Business will be a place to develop my skills, share my passions and hopefully become at least self-sustaining.
I've tried to start businesses in the past, but to be truthful, i would do the research, start the business plan and bottle it. Anyone who has attempted their own business will tell you, it's hard and you have to be prepared to see it through. In the past I started planning a Korean BBQ restaurant with my best mate after a trip to Asia. Our lack of experience in the food industry and lack of funds saw an end to that pipe dream. I then proposed, with an old school friend, a festival food truck, making nice coffee and providing healthy sandwich options at UK festivals. This fizzled out as again as lack of experience, funds and logistics (living on the opposite side of the country to my business partner). Each time i'd think of a plan and never see it through. Ultimately, i decided to just see one through, just do it!!!! If it fails, boo, it it succeeds, huzah, but at least this won't become a never materialised business.
Anyway thats a little snippet into my ramblings. Why a blog on ecommerce shop you say? Good question, thanks for asking. Predominantly for 3 reasons:
I want to be able to provide some free content for you all, something to read, something to give an insight into me, the company, my thoughts, whatever comes to mind really.
I want a place to display projects that are just for fun. I have a blogs lined up and plan to share them with you all. If you like them, cool, if ya don't, then that's cool too.
Websites are hard work, although this is new and i am not a marketer, it is hard to get to the promised land of page one of google. Apparently, the key is the black magic of SEO, (search engine optimisation) which a blog is meant to help with. The longer you stay on a page and if you then visit links to other pages, then all the better for me.
So welcome, whatup? How ya doin 'n' tha'? and I hope you enjoy DesignUntappeds ramblings.
Cheers to You!!! Please feel free to comment, share or subscribe.
Love 'n' stuff, Andy F.
